Nonotami Photo Resizer

Available at Microsoft Store, this is a lightweight tool designed to streamline everyday photo workflows, focusing on fast batch resizing with minimal adjustments.

It is built for preparing already-edited images for sharing, helping the user quickly resize and export photos for platforms such as websites or social media. While it supports both downscaling and upscaling, best results are achieved when reducing image size. Enlarging images may lead to visible quality loss, as no advanced enhancement or reconstruction is applied.

Why

Before creating Image Converter WordPress plugin, as a quick solution, I created this app for my wife to be able to batch resize images for her blog, and make last-minute minimal editing.

What

  1. You can drag images to the designated drop area, or can click the button and import the images.
  2. You can select output quality (0-100, 80 default), long-side size (free integer input, 1200 default), and format (drop down, currently supports WebP and default JPG).
  3. You can do basic and limited manipulation: Warmth, brightness, contrast, highlights, shadows, and saturation are currently supported. It should be reminded that the app is NOT a Photoshop, GIMP, or such dedicated photo manipulation app alternative. It is only a simple tool, focused on one thing.
  4. The output quality, size, and format are applied universally, to all images that are listed in the horizontal gallery row at the bottom, once exported.
  5. Export folder is defaulted to the system downloads folder.
  6. You can preview an approximation of each image’s final disk size overlaid on them in the bottom slider. As values change, these approximations are updated.
  7. You can apply modifications either on a single image or more by selecting multiple items in the gallery.
  8. When modifications are made, the app does not touch the originals and works on the local copy, and that one is exported.
  9. App does not delete or replace the original images unless the export folder is the same with the import folder.
  10. Everything happens and stays local: The app does not send images to any server either to process or to have a copy of.

App size is approximately 135 MB in Microsoft Store listing. It is higher than expected for such an app, because it bundles Magick.NET, the C# wrapper for the ImageMagick library – which allows working fully local.

Permissions

Because the app needs to be able to import and export images, it has access to local hard drives.

No data ever leaves your device, the app does not connect to internet.

Each image cache, created when you import for resizing and/or basic manipulation, is cleared once the app is closed.

No profiles are created, no manipulations, resizes, or images are tracked.

Final Notes

The app, after Nonotami Image Resizer WordPress plugin, is mostly obsolete for us. It still will remain available in Microsoft Store for download, but do not expect more features. As of its initial release in April 2026, there were no bugs on our tests, a desktop computer running Windows 10 and a laptop computer running Windows 11. If you came across any bugs, you may contact me via [email protected]. I do not plan to add more features but I sure will work to make it bug-free.
